Emma is a superb, young and up coming female vocalist, a winner of Fylde’s Got Talent, performing a wide range of songs from the 70s to modern day chart music. She will keep your guests of all ages entertained.
Emma is an exceptionally talented young vocalist who brings a modern atmosphere to any function. She has a wide array of songs to suit every age and knows how to work a crowd. Her sole intention is to entertain!
From the moment Emma could talk, she learned all the words to Mariah Carey’s ‘Without You’ and sang to her mum’s video camera every day. At the age of six, she started dancing lessons at The Karen Hunter Dance Studio. Here, Karen heard her voice and she was then given the position to sing at the front of the dance troupe. They performed at countless dance and charity events and Emma was known as the ‘Rising Star’. As her parents began to realise that Emma was interested in all aspects of performing, they let her audition for a place at Scream Theatre Schools at just 8 years old. She was accepted, and it was here that she improved her vocal technique, danced and also learned how to act. Performing Arts has always been her passion, which shows through in every performance.
As the winner of 2009’s ‘Fylde’s Got Talent’ at the Lowther Pavillion, the stage is certainly no stranger for Emma. As well as winning other competitions, She has performed at the Mayoral Ball, where she received praise from the Mayor of Blackpool herself and many other important guests. She is proud to have performed at many shows at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens, Tower Ballroom and Grand Theatre, but her biggest challenge was in 2011.
It was 2011 that Emma auditioned for the X Factor. After many auditions, she made it to Bootcamp and sang in front of Gary Barlow, Tulisa, Kelly Rowland & Louis Walsh, who all said they loved her voice.
Unfortunately, they had put too many through and Emma’s journey ended, but it was an unforgettable learning experience for her. Watch her audition here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQ4N9vgE39U
Emma’s influences are the likes of Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse. She often sings these artists’ songs in her set and is sometimes told that she sounds better than the original artist! She has a wide range of party anthems that have her audience dancing through the night, yet she manages to keep the balance with legendary ballads to captivate her audience’s attention.
Emma’s comment: “When I finish a show and have given it my all, I’m grateful that I enjoy how I make a living. But when a stranger comes up to me and comments on how much they enjoyed their evening because of my performance, it really makes it worthwhile.”
Emma understands that each event if different, which is why she happily takes requests from the client before the day itself.
